I just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself. I have been a software developer for many years, but am fairly new to Lisp.
When John McCarthy passed away in 2011 I got this notion that I should set aside some time to learn Lisp. Not knowing the best place to start, I took a broad spectrum approach, including
I have also been playing around with Clojure and find it quite fascinating. There is a Houston Functional Programming Meetup that I regularly attend and Clojure/ClojureScript are frequent topics.
Anyway, I work with some great people and we are now looking into implementing a very significant enhancement to our application in Lisp. Can't hardly tell you how exciting it is. I've always enjoyed the work that I do, but Lisp has brought a whole new level of fun to the party.

- MIT's SICP course (confession: never did finish it. I intend to fix that!)
- Peter Seibel's Practical Common Lisp
- Conrad Barski's Land of Lisp (fun book)
- David Lamkin's Successful Lisp (does anyone else but me think that his photo on the back cover looks like Brent Spiner's character in Independence Day?)
