Re: How to split project into multiple files

I am not sure if I understand what exactly you want. If it gets on your nerves to always "load" all the files again, you might want to use Core-Images (under SBCL you can create these with sb-ext:save-lisp-and-die). If you always want to load some file on startup, you can put the load-command into t...

Re: Your favorite implementation?

I like Guile - because it is the only Scheme Implementation i have ever really used for something. And i think stalin is interesting - the code stalin generates is somehow ... frightening.

Re: SBCL, ASDF, Windows XP and Symlinks

Thank you. It does automatically what I have been doing "manually" every time, but its still better. Maybe it is possible to create a system-definition-function that is aware of windows' .lnk-Files. Maybe I will try this.

SBCL, ASDF, Windows XP and Symlinks

Under Linux, ASDF is searching for .asd-Files or Symlinks to .asd-Files in all Directories in asdf:*central-registry*. Under Windows XP, with SBCL and ASDF, I dont know how to make "Symlinks". Windows has its .lnk-Link-Files, but these seem not to be recognized, and so I have to put all directories ...

Anyone Expieriences with cl-webdav?

I hope it is Ok to post this here, because it is nothing "general" about Common Lisp, but something special, but I dont want to get on the developer's nerves, so if it is Ok, I will post it here (if not just delete my topic). I was just playing around a little bit with cl-webdav, but I am not really...

Re: Favorite "underrated" Lisp feature?

Compiler Macros Interesting. Care to say why? I have never really had an occasion to use a compiler macro. Regular macros, yes, all the time. Compiler macros, never. As Geoff Wozniak already said, compiler macros are a good thing when needed. I actually never needed them until a few days ago (and I...

Re: Lisp mailing-list ?

The spam on usenet is something that irritates me as well. I tried creating rules to filter out spam but plenty still got through. I now have only one rule, to filter any subject that doesn't begin with 'Re:' which traps almost all spam. It does filter out the opening message of a thread as well bu...
