problems with lisp compiler

Hi,
I'm getting a really really strange error with my lisp app, and I'm wondering if any of you has encountered anything like this before...
I have a function called build that has as parameter a list. Now lets say I have two lists A and B.
I'm using SBCL btw. If I do:
(build A)
; I get the expected result
; but then:
(build B)
; I get an error
However, If I do:
(build A)
; I get the expected result
; then, recompile, and do:
(build B)
; I get the expected result
Isn't this reeeeally strange? Any ideas?
Thanks!
